A Benelux and European Trademark and Design Attorney, Frederik Jocqué has an extensive and profound knowledge of the different aspects of intellectual property, and in particular of trademark and design law. Through his experience with medium- and large-sized enterprises, Frederik has gained expertise in providing strategic and substantive advice on the protection, management and optimisation of IP portfolios. Frederik focuses, in particular, on trademark filing strategies, negotiations and drafting agreements, and advises both product- and service-based businesses, as well as companies with B2B and B2C focuses, in a wide range of sectors.

Career history

Frederik obtained a Masters degree in Law from the University of Leuven, followed by a LL.M. in Intellectual Property from the University of Manchester in the UK. After having gained more than two years' experience as a Trademark and Design Attorney in private practice, he joined Novagraaf in early 2014.

Work highlights

Frederik is the main contact for two major clients in the Belgium office, undertaking filing and defence work and co-ordinating parts of their IP portfolio globally.


Frederik is an official representative at the EUIPO and a member of the BMM and Union-ip.
